Who will win Dancing With the Stars 17?

DWTS 17 SemiFinals 1

What do you think about the stars who will be in the finale of ‘Dancing with the Stars’? Are you happy to see some underdogs still in it to win it or do you think the audience has made some notable mistakes along the way?

KT: What impresses me about Bill is you can tell he’s humble about his abilities and he’s enjoyable to watch. That’s not always the case with some of the celebrities. If someone gets eliminated before the finale, I think he’s the most likely contender but you never know how the votes will go. Do you think his wife is at all jealous of watching him dance with the beautiful Emma week-to-week?

CD: You could say Jack has the same humble quality, but at least he’s improved each week. He’s getting 10s now. Bill has yet to get a 10. I doubt his wife is worried or jealous. I think Bill sees his partner Emma as a daughter. I think Leah probably didn’t have that persona that made everyone feel warm and fuzzy like Bill and Jack do, and neither did Elizabeth, Snooki or Christina. They were all better dancers though and were eliminated too soon. And what about Brant? You’da thunk he would still be there too with that charming smile. Maybe he should have taken his shirt off more.

KT: I’m most excited that Jack Osbourne remains in the competition. I’ve been Team Jack for a while now. He is consistently getting better and you can tell it means a lot to him – and his supportive family – that he’s lasted until the final round. The competition might be a little more strenuous on him than some of the other competitors, but I respect the fact that he hasn’t played the sickness card every week. His enthusiasm and wisecracking remarks with Cheryl Burke bring a smile to my face every week, and I think he looks very debonair in the costumes they come up with for him to wear. I would love to see him win the competition, although I’ll admit it’s definitely a longshot. But in a season full of surprises, this would be the ultimate surprise.

CD: I do enjoy Jack, and I’m glad he’s still there (and he never had to take his shirt off!). I don’t see him winning, but he does have a winning personality (and anyone who knows him from The Osbournes certainly sees a completely different person here), and I love seeing his mum cheering him on from the audience every week. The pre-taped piece with his family speaking about him this week was very heart-warming, especially the love from his dad. He’s one underdog that I have been pulling for to continue, but I’m not ready to give him the win.

KT: In my opinion, Corbin Bleu is probably the best dancer remaining this season. I could easily see him winning the Mirror Ball trophy. His routines are always smoldering and I’m really excited to see what Karina Smirnoff and he cook up in the freestyle round. I’m sure it’ll sizzle.

CD: I hope they cook up a mind-blowing freestyle. That’s the dance that can win, or lose, you the competition. I still don’t think anyone has come close to matching the freestyle done by Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke. The last few seasons they have either been too safe or just nothing more than a regular ballroom dance. I want to see some fireworks from Corbin and Karina.

KT: Amber Riley is a natural-born entertainer who lights up the ballroom with every performance. Paired with Derek Hough, I think their chances of winning the competition are probably the best. I’m predicting an Amber/Derek win unless we have another shocking upset with audience votes. Derek’s freestyles are notorious for being impressively creative and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with this time around. Is there anything he can’t do?

CD: Like with Corbin, I want something spectacular in the freestyle with Amber, and we’ve certainly seen Derek produce some stunning pieces (like that one with the rotating room). I’m glad she’s gotten her knee situation under control and things seem to be better for her. She’s also been a standout from week one, and remember, she got an unprecedented 9 on the first week. She definitely has the most to live up to (as does Mr. Emmy Winner Derek) and that freestyle better rock … that is unless Bill’s fan base knocks her out. If that were to happen, I think I would have to turn off the TV at that point and delete DWTS from any future season pass recordings.

So dear readers, what do you think? Does this come down to a Corbin or Amber win? Will Bill upset the whole competition and take that mirror ball home? Should Bill even be in the finals? Will Jack have to settle for third place? What do you think of this season?
