Burn Notice – Are we done with Jesse yet?

Michael, Sam and Fiona have become weirdly dependent on Jesse the Nobody ... since when do they need anyone else to get the job done?

- Season 4, Episode 12 - "Guilty As Charged"

Hrm … I liked the summer finale of Burn Notice , I really did, but it was missing something that made me love it. It was a bit of a slow ride for me, even though I liked the case of the week and the clever way they solved it (and stealing the asshat parking attendant and shaving him to look like the brother was awesome). Maybe I expected too much, or maybe it was hard to follow Chuck Finley … I don’t know.

As always, I’m intrigued where the burn thing may be going — who stole the bible? Where’s Michael going to wake up in November? How pissed is Vaughn right now?

It’s hard for me to get into the whole Jesse drama because I really don’t care. I want to jump through my television and tell the Fantastic Three that they really don’t need him and why do they think they do … it’s strange to see them so dependent on a recent addition. Jesse’s weak, and maybe he came through, but I find nothing charming about his stubborn inability to forgive and that’s why he will never be a true member of the team … Fiona even said as much.

I said last week that I was glad they weren’t making a huge deal out of the Fiona-Jesse lip-lock. I’m still glad of that, but man, Michael and Fiona are the weirdest couple. I’ve thought this for a long time, but they’re rarely intimate and they mostly talk business. Sometimes I forget whether they are actually a couple … are they taking a break? I mean, the most intimate thing they shared tonight was a yogurt. Wouldn’t you expect a kiss goodbye as Fiona heads off to seek out Jesse, who might kill her?

Even though the summer finale wasn’t completely satisfying to me, I’m still anxious for November and I still love Burn Notice.

This and that:

  • Robert Wisdom plays such a good dick — first Uriel on Supernatural, and now Vaughn.
  • Who was that guy whose daughter got kidnapped (Adam Scott)? The actor looked so familiar but I couldn’t place him and my Googling turned up empty.
  • So Barrett’s dead, right?

That was Danny Pino–sp?–from Cold Case whose daughter was kidnapped.

I hope we are done with Jesse but somehow I doubt it. For some reason I just have not cared about his story line. And the same goes for Vaughn. I am torn between hoping he died in the fire fight and hoping not as he can get Jesse back in the spy business and then we will be rid of him.

I liked the addition of Jesse this season. I hope he isn’t gone. Now that he knows the truth, I think it could be fun to watch how he handles this information and if he forgives or ends up an adversary.

Or, if he gets unburned and forgives, this gives Michael and the crew and inside source which could be intriguing way to move the show forward.

I remained open about Jesse’s addition, but when the team became reliant upon him, I found it irritating. They soooooo don’t need him!

However, I like your idea of having him be an inside man for them. He could be recurring like Barry and I could live with that.

I hope he isn’t either. He brought his own sense of comedy to burn notice which i liked.

Definitely Danny Pino from Cold Case. Kind of hard to recognize him when he was scruffy with longer hair, but still him.

Jesse must die and leave the show never to return. He has ruined the whole show!!

Hey Guys I am pretty sure that jesse is gone because if you go onto IMDB and check out the episode guide for next season it only shows colby bell being in the first episode and everyone else of the famous four for a whole season :-0)

Jesse must die. Coby Bell is Ben Affleck bad. Learn how to act and try it again, or find a new job.
