Flicks on DVD – True Grit, Blue Crush 2, The Stunt Man

This week, an Oscar nominee from the Coen Brothers comes to DVD and Blu-ray, and a collection of comedies, classics and cult films come to Blu-ray for the first time including one of the best movies about making movies ever made.

It’s a so-so week for recent theatrical releases this week with the highlight being the critically acclaimed, Oscar nominated True Grit. After that, it’s slim pickins with some little seen films with big stars — Ben Affleck, Chris Cooper, Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston — and a direct to video sequel to a surfing movie that has somehow attained a cult following. On the other hand, there are many classic, comedy and cult movies making their debuts on Blu-ray including one of my favorite movies about making movies, Richard Rush‘s The Stunt Man. Definitely a movie worth seeking out!
