If you’re visiting this site, you probably love the movies. We’re all fans here … we love watching movies, discussing movies (as well as the cast and people behind them), and even reading the movies, or at least the scripts, to see just how the written word was adapted and translated to the screen. Scripts are interesting things to behold because, if you’re lucky, they will unlock little secrets of the movie itself such as scenes that may have never made it to the final cut of the film or were never shot to begin with.
If you’re a fan of Christopher Nolan — and judging from our recent Dark Knight post there are quite a few — we have come across an interesting experiment involving social media and filmmaking. Raindance, an organization founded by filmmakers for filmmakers, is currently offering a collection of every script penned or directed by Christopher Nolan (minus The Dark Knight Rises, natch) as a way to show filmmakers how to use social media as part of the online distribution process.
We thought it was a pretty neat idea and wanted to share it with you. Today (July 11th) only, until midnight US West Coast time, you can email the folks at Raindance and receive a link to download the scripts, from Nolan’s first feature, Following, to Inception! Visit the Raindance Twitter page for the email address and they will get back to you. This is totally legit, so give it a look. It’s pretty darned cool!
