Haven’t we moved beyond clip shows, Legend of the Seeker?

Legend of the Seeker

Gosh, it sure was nice to see Richard’s father and brother again, wasn’t it? Looking back at a more innocent time when Zedd was still that crazy old hermit who talked to his chickens. Oh, who am I kidding, this episode was complete and total bullshit! Younger viewers may not remember, but there was a time when the “clip show” was a staple of the television landscape. But we’re only twelve episodes in, so do we really need a refresher? And that framing sequence tried but was still pretty lame.

Oh no, Darken Rahl wants to know where the third box is …  so we’ll move it. Dumb! In the information era we’re living in, there’s really no point for a clip show and there’s no excuse for one twelve episodes in. Legend of the Seeker isn’t even that complex of a storyline. I can understand the recap episodes of Lost and Battlestar Galactica, but those don’t even pretend to be real episodes because I think the creators know better. Shame on you, Legend of the Seeker! What’s next, “a very special” episode where Richard reveals he was “touched” as a child?

Thanks for posting this, but I wonder will the LOTS posts be more regular? I wasn’t a fan of its pilot, but have since become addicted and would’ve loved to see your take on the Denna ep -

In the next episode we will be treated to the marriage ceremony of Calen (or however her name is written) and Darken Rahl, when the greedy Rahl finally realizes an obsessed Seeker is the best slave
