Confessions of a Kasprzaktivist

evankasprzakDear Evan Kasprzak,

Since So You Think You Can Dance turned a hundred episodes old and danced about cancer this week, I should probably talk about that. I should stick to voicing my unpopular opinions, like that Brandon should have been the one that went home this week, or that the cancer dance wasn’t really sad, if you didn’t know it was about cancer and weren’t thereby projecting. Maybe I should make my really inappropriate comments about how hilarious I found it that directly following the cancer routine was a zombie routine, as if to say, “Don’t worry, if you do die of cancer, this is what happens to you!”

But instead, I’ve got to talk about you.  I’ve just got to. Because that’s right, I’m a Kasprzaktivist.

It really started in Vegas with your first audition. See, I love old-timey Broadway dance numbers, like in old movies. Except I find old movies really boring. This way, I get to see them and I don’t have to watch old movies with bad sound quality! Everyone wins! Not to mention that I find it so very, very refreshing to see somone who dances something besides hip-hop or contemporary. And you’ve just been so good throughout the competition, I can’t help but become more and more helplessly enamored with you every week as I learn more and more things about you, like that you have a matching tattoo that says “brothers” in Greek on your wrist, or that you were in this adorable short film. How are you so charming? Also, could you stop it? Because it’s making it hard for me to concentrate on my life.

I’m really, really glad that this isn’t a competition for America’s Best Dancer because honestly, you wouldn’t win it. Don’t get me wrong, you’re one of the best at what you do. You could tap circles around everyone else. (Also, could you use your solo to tap dance? One week? That would make me really happy.) I am not so blinded by your puppy-dog eyes to see that everyone else is more skilled than you. But this is a search for America’s favorite dancer and boy, you are mine.

Marry me.

Hugs and Kisses,

Julia Hass

Evan should have been the one to go this week, by a mile.

Also if you couldn’t tell the cancer dance was about cancer then you must be blind or clueless. I walked in after they already started dancing and knew it was cancer right away.

However I do find it odd that the zombie thing was after cancer dance, the cancer dance should have been last.

It is so wonderful to find a fellow Evan fan. Many of the boards are starting to get very anti-Evan, and I feel bad. Evan is my favorite, not because he is the most versatile dancer, but because he makes me feel happy every time he dances. That is all I am looking for in a winner.

Exactly. I couldn’t have said any of it better myself. I was smitten with Evan during his audition last year and have adored him ever since. He may not be the best, but if it’s between him, Ade, and Brandon, I’ll take the charmer who can fix my car (seriously, how adorable is that?) over a polished contemporary dancer without much personality.

yay, more Evan fans(: i absolutely looove Evan. i’m the biggest Kasprzaktivist out there hahahaha. from the day i first saw him and his brother Ryan on the tv auditioning for sytycd, i knew they were going to go far. i just had that feeling. and here’s evan, who took third place! i was disappointed to hear that. 6 of my best friends from dance came over to watch the finale, and none of them are really ‘kasprzak fans’, so when kat said evan’s name, i was like “NOOOOOO!” haha. he’s been my favorite since day 1. i agree with ‘LindaH’ — he makes me happy when he dances. when he does, it seems as though nothing is bothering him.

for example, when the judges say rude comments to him like when nigel said that he has droopy eyelids, he didn’t let that get to him. evan’s one of my favorite professional dancers. i’d love to have the chance to meet him and ryan someday, to get to work with them, anything haha. he has a special quality and just something about him that alot of other dancers lack. but i’m just another [biiiigg] fan of the kasprzaks that wanted to speak her opinion.
