If there’s one thing you see during the behind-the-scenes segments of So You Think You Can Dance it’s a bit … a hint … of the dancers’ personalities. In Lauren, we see a dippy goofiness. In Kent, the exuberance of youth. AdéChiké: want … need … some pride. Robert? A strong, smiling confidence.
We saw these things tonight from each one of them.
But what we really wanted to see was what we all tuned in to see: Who would make it … who would not.
I predicted AdéChiké would get voted off. And he was. But I didn’t see any of that want, need or pride wain from him in losing out to the other three.
I have the utmost respect for this young man. The poise and strength and character he exhibited throughout the competition were nothing less than exemplary. Standing there on stage with Cat Deeley while we viewed his journey during the show … while he answered questions from Cat … while he honored his fellow ‘homies’ Robert, Lauren and Kent, we were treated to a bit of a storybook end to one of the Top Four contestants on SYTYCD … and I, for one, was glad to be there to witness it.
“It’s been an honor to even be on this show amongst such fine artists and just beautiful people. This is not the end of the world … this is only the beginning of the journey,” he told Cat.
It has been indeed, AdéChiké. It’s been a pleasure watching you do your thing. Thanks for entertaining us. I’m certain we’ll see you down the line.
Now comes the finale … the final performances from the last three contestants. My prediction? You know it: It’s going to come down to Lauren and Kent, Lauren walking away with it.
I can hardly wait.
well… finally he’s gone… I don’t know but I really don’t care for him…
