Ratings Clack – The Bachelorette, still going strong

ABC - After another uneventful Sunday featuring Scoundrels (3.21m/.7) and The Gates (2.88m/.9), things really picked up on Monday. The Bachelorette (11.74m/3.8) closed things out as the number one show on the networks for the week. And if that wasn’t enough, After The Final Rose (11.32m/3.8) was number two. The good news continued with another installment of Wipeout (8.91m/2.9), before things slowed down with the return of Shaq Vs (5.24m/1.8). Rookie Blue (6.87m/1.8) and Boston Med (4.74m/1.2) finished up the week.

FOX - Sons of Tuscon (1.68m/.6) continued to improve this week. Although, it is far too little, far too late. Lie To Me (5.64m/1.9) and The Good Guys (3.59m/1.1) also saw small gains. Despite those gains, the class of the FOX summer is still Gordon Ramsey and his double-shot of Hell’s Kitchen (7.15m/3.2) and Master Chef (5.83m/2.6). So You Think You Can Dance (6.08m/2.1 – 5.58m/1.8) was fairly steady to wrap things up.

NBC - Last Comic Standing (4.28m/1.7) is steady, if not remarkable. Breakthrough with Tony Robbins (2.76m/.8), on the other hand, is still searching for the ratings bottom. Fortunately for the network, they still have America’s Got Talent (10.37m/2.9 – 10.06m/2.8) to lift those averages. Finally, Friday Night Lights (3.54m/1.1) closed out another critically acclaimed season.

CBS - Once again, the week amounted to Big Brother on Sunday (7.11m/2.5), Wednesday (6.97m/2.4), and Thursday (7.14m/2.4), followed by Flashpoint (6.23m/1.2). Those are interesting numbers for Big Brother. Slightly up week-to-week, so it looks like the newest cast is working.

CW - The new fall season must be getting close, because there were TWO shows on The CW this week. Not a very exciting start for 18 to Life (.99m/.4 – .85m/.3), but Plain Jane (1.15m/.4) was up over its premiere numbers.

CABLE - We’re going to hop in the way-back machine for the big cable story this week, taking a look at the cable numbers from July 30th. Eureka (2.27m/.7) and Haven (2.13m/.6) are holding steady. That would be expected for Eureka, given the track record, but it’s a very good sign for Haven. What it means for SGU and Caprica is something we’ll have to wait to see. But that’s not the big story. The big story is Carly’s hot new room!

As was recently revealed in a CliqueClack email string, I am a huge iCarly fan. So much so that I would take a new iCarly over any other sit-com on TV (With the possible exception of The Big Bang Theory. They have to do a Charisma Carpenter guest spot eventually, right?). Anyway … it would appear I’m not alone in that fascination. The last new iCarly (7.74m/1.4) did huge numbers. Don’t get too caught up in that 18-49 demo number. It’s not the target. In K2-11 it knocks down a 9.5. So, big numbers, and if you haven’t tried it you totally should. Other cable numbers for the week:
