Glee brought its own controversy with it to Comic Con this year, but in-between all of the hoopla, we had the opportunity to sit down and talk to Dot Marie-Jones, who plays Coach Bieste on the show.
Some highlights from the interview:
- She loved singing “One Scotch, One Burbon, One Beer,” and would love to do more singing.
- She’s got a great idea for a story where Coach Bieste and Mr. Schue switch jobs for a week.
- Marie-Jones has received a lot of fan mail thanking her for being an inspiration, and you can tell that she’s incredibly touched by it.
- Britney is her favorite character on the show.
- She signed her contract to work on the show without knowing who the character would be, because of her previous work with Ryan Murphy.

In a show filled with characters that aren’t much more than cardboard cut-outs, her character is by far the most real. I would love to see her as a regular, the show needs more good characters like Coach Bieste.
