Dallas – Beware crazy women

With only a few more episodes until the season finale, 'Dallas' offers up a shocker to satisfy fans; I'll admit that I didn't see it coming. The writers really know a thing or two about keeping the momentum going!

- Season 1, Episode 7 - "Collateral Damage"

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned from TNT’s Dallas it’s that I should never fall for a crazy woman. Last night’s installment was a good one, but it wasn’t much of a blockbuster as the advertisements had led me to believe. Veronica (or Marta) or whatever the hell her real name is was killed … pushed from a building to collide head first with a car. It seems John Ross can breathe a sigh of relief because there’s no doubt that the crazy woman was spinning out of control.

I can’t say that I’ll miss her. In my opinion, the cast was becoming just a bit too bloated. Besides, there’s a ton of other storylines and plots to keep me hooked. Let’s use Rebecca, for example. Elena discovered that Rebecca was pregnant and accidentally spilled the beans to Christopher who became rather upset. I can’t blame him. He didn’t know whether this was another trick up Rebecca’s sleeve or not. I feel sorry for Christopher actually. He’s just so confused. Rebecca seems genuinely remorseful, but what’s it going to take to win him over?

One thing I’d like to say really quickly is that Jesse Metcalfe has succeeded in making me forget that he played the underage gardener on Desperate Housewives. I wasn’t so sure he could do so, but now that he has, I must give him his props. Speaking of Desperate Housewives, his alum Brenda Strong has certainly been holding her own as Bobby’s wife. It would have been simple to make Ann just a supportive woman without any issues, but the fact that Bobby went and got tangled up with her ex-husband really seems to have quite a negative effect on her. Clearly there’s more to this story.

In other news, J.R. finally got the dirt on Cliff’s assistant and it ain’t pretty. Also, it seems that John Ross is hitting rock bottom regarding this whole oil thing. Desperation is an ugly thing, eh? It was nice seeing him seek out the help of Lucy, who, by the way, is still as pretty as ever. It was also nice seeing Lucy warn Bobby. Good stuff.

Sue Ellen seemed to have been lost in the mix this week, but that’s okay. I believe there are three episodes left before the season ends. I’m sure we’ll see more of her next time. So, what did you guys think of Dallas? Are there any storylines that are really exciting you? Anyone that you want killed off?
