The season premiere of Warehouse 13 serves up a dizzying amount of globetrotting action as the gang races to undo the events of the season finale. Now, since the show is called Warehouse 13, and the credits continued to show an intact Warehouse we could assume they would succeed, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that “A New Hope” did not merely hit a giant reset button. Now the question is, how will Artie handle the consequences of what he had to do to save the Warehouse and return hope to the world?
Artie now has to carry the burden of having used Magellan’s Astrolabe alone as he watches its evil unfold. And if Brent Spiner says the consequences will be bad, you pretty much have to believe him, right? And we know Mrs. Frederick, with the new gray streak in her hair, won’t let the matter drop completely. So far, the immediate effect seems to be that Claudia has gone rogue, presumably to save Steve. Since Artie and Claudia are the best character pairing on the show, it should be heart-wrenching to watch them at odds with each other, if that is how the new season is going.
Aside from that game-changing stuff, the episode was a lot of fun, We very rarely get to see the gang out in the field together, and I love their interaction and to see how, as each person drops away, we are reminded of what he or she brings to the team. In addition, H.G. has been given what seems like her billionth reprieve and now may be sticking around since Artie is now willing to vouch for her.
The mythology of this show is a lot of fun, but for me, the heart of the show lies in the character’s interactions with one another, and the premiere served that up in spades while setting up interesting problems for the new season. Bring it on!
Notes and Quotes:
i don’t understand their reasoning writing themselves in this corner, but they at least kept that subtext in between H.G. and Myka and i hope that continues

That subtext is awesome! As for everything else, I am willing to see where it’s going.
