Well, with Willie out of the Big Brother house, it’s been relatively drama free this week … which is a shame because with only a handful of House Guests left in the game three weeks in, it almost feels like we’re into late August. With Willie’s untimely departure, though, Frank has become the biggest target in the game because of his strength and his social game. But with Shane aligned with Danielle — yes, she’s still flirting with him and understands his game play with JoJo — and a side deal with Boogie and Frank, that really only left three people vulnerable on Janelle’s team … and she went and saved Wil (apparently Public Enemy Number One for some reason) after winning the Coaches Competition. But even with Janelle, Britney, Danielle and Joe all telling Shane he had to nominate Frank, he had no choice but to nominate Joe and Ashley, which is probably going to ignite a war now that Janelle is the coach on the outside looking in. (And wasn’t it weird to see only four keys in the nomination wheel three weeks into the game?)
But how long will the war last, if it even gets started? If Janelle had a player win HOH this week, you can bet Shane and Frank will be the targets. But, because the numbers are dwindling and there are already four extra “players” in the house, Big Brother is going to leave the decision up to America about what happens next. I don’t believe that the voting will matter either way. I think the plan was always to bring the coaches into the game at some point, just like Britney predicted back in the first week. They just didn’t start with enough “real” players to make it to September, so don’t be surprised if the coaches are “voted” back into the game (with the producers pointing the finger at us … and I voted “NO” ten times!). If that were to happen, I’d love to see the House Guests stage a protest and walk out. You can screw with the game only so much before it becomes just a game for the producers and not for the people playing. And if the coaches do come back, will they align with each other to go against the new people, or stick with their teams … or will the newbies gang up on them to take them all out?
And since not much happened on this episode, here are just a few of the highlights to tide you over (and one hidden spoiler if you care to read it):
Shane. Don’t expect nominations to change. Joe will probably leave this week.
I wasn’t clear on why Shane didn’t target Ian or Jenn along with Joe. Frank may or may not be trustworthy from his perspective, but Mike Boogie pretty clearly isn’t. Shane had a chance to keep his deal with Frank while still sowing discord between Janelle and Boogie. The longer Frank stays in the game, though, the better the outlook for Ian and Jenn as the attention of hostile players stays on him.
But I don’t hate the way it went down. Janelle needed to have her cage rattled and Joe is kind of pathetic. He doesn’t really have friends in the house, so I don’t think many people will miss him. I hope that Boogie doesn’t get Frank or his other players to turn on Shane next week.
