Finale week wasn’t exactly great for some of the older reality shows. ‘Idol’, ‘Dancing WIth The Stars’, and ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ were all up. But they were all at series low levels for their finales.
A week full of finales brought good news for some (‘Once Upon A Time’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘NCIS’), and not so good news for others (‘Suburgatory’, ’30 Rock’, ‘Community’, ‘Touch’).
As upfront week hits, almost all of the renewals and cancellations have been announced. This week we run through which shows will be returning, and which will be readying those complete series DVD sets.
As we head to the finish line for the season, more renewals are rolling in. CW has given golden tickets to ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Supernatural’, and ‘90210’, while HBO has tapped both ‘Veep’ and ‘Girls’ for second seasons.
I know the joke is that Brick’s a bookworm and he doesn’t do physical exertion, but why give him stories like Presidential Fitness Challenge Week? It was a terrible waste of his talent … Spelling Bees are much more up his alley, and more appropriate for his brand of comedy.
Spring continues to cause havoc for the television ratings. The big story on cable remains ‘Game Of Thrones’, despite a host of Showtime premieres. On the networks, imagine a repeat finishing #1 at 9 on Thursday against all new competition…
