Two gals and two guys are all that’s left on ‘American Idol’ as we head for the finale home stretch. And they definitely put on a show this episode.
As we head to the finish line for the season, more renewals are rolling in. CW has given golden tickets to ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Supernatural’, and ‘90210’, while HBO has tapped both ‘Veep’ and ‘Girls’ for second seasons.
It’s difficult to see any of the hopefuls leave ‘Idol’ at this stage of the game. You don’t get to the Top 5 by sitting back and enjoying the show. So when a talented young lady gets nixed, it hits home.
Not only do the Idols go ’60’s and Brit Pop, but the young teen diva of the group might be in trouble.
Last week brought a rare sighting to broadcast television, in the form of the lowest rated dramatic premiere ever. Amazingly, that was followed by a renewal for the lowest rated show on another network. Meanwhile, over on cable, the going was also slow for the latest from HBO.
Let’s put it this way: There’s no way you can survive 6 trips to the Bottom 3 and still hope to advance to the next stage of the competition … I don’t care if you’ve got a ‘whole lotta love’ or not …
When all was said and done, it was a pretty evenly matched evening on ‘American Idol,’ making the prediction who will end up in the Bottom 3 – let alone who will be eliminated all together – that much more difficult to determine.
