This week’s ‘True Blood’ was all about people not being exactly what they appeared to be. Whether it is amnesia, possession, or full on transformation, plenty of characters resembled completely different people. Was it for the best?
I finally like one of the vampires on this show! And he’s someone Eric listens to, so maybe Eric will stop acting like such an asshole, too!
With a by-the-numbers week on the broadcast networks, the big stories were on cable, where the Women’s World Cup did very well and the premiere of ‘Breaking Bad’ brought very good numbers for AMC.
This season of ‘True Blood’ continues to be a bit uneven, and I believe that it has everything to do with a weak villain. After two years of charismatic characters like Russell and Maryann, Marnie is just not doing it for me.
I can’t claim firsthand knowledge about them all, but many of the nominees in this year’s Emmy drama categories star on shows that I watch. Did any of them turn in Emmy-worthy performances? Did your favorites?

The big surprise on the networks came from the numbers for ABC’s Jaycee Dugard special, which easily outscored the MLB All-Star Game. Over on cable, another huge helping of summer premieres, including ‘Curb’, ‘Alphas’, ‘Warehouse 13′, ‘Eureka’, and ‘The Closer’.
