The big surprise on the networks came from the numbers for ABC’s Jaycee Dugard special, which easily outscored the MLB All-Star Game. Over on cable, another huge helping of summer premieres, including ‘Curb’, ‘Alphas’, ‘Warehouse 13′, ‘Eureka’, and ‘The Closer’.
The holiday weekend meant a slow week, even by summer standards. The interesting stories come from how well ‘Falling Skies’ is holding up, and the possibility that ‘Rookie Blue’ has already earned a third season.
The big story for the week was the return of ‘True Blood’ on HBO, which remains the biggest hit the network has where ratings are concerned. On the broadcast networks, NBC unscripted continues to hold the lead.
It was a big premiere week on cable as ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Memphis Beat’, ‘Hawthorne’, ‘Lives of Chloe King’, ‘Hot In Cleveland’, and ‘Happily Divorced’ all debuted. On the broadcast networks, the NBA again took the top spot.
We’re giving away one copy of season two of ‘Hawthorne’ DVD set to a random commenter to this post! Be sure you read the rules, and enter today!
A big week of releases includes ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Burn Notice’, ‘Leverage’, ‘White Collar’, ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘HawthoRNe’, ‘Secret Life’, ‘Big C’, ‘Rome’, ‘Robin Of Sherwood’, ‘New Tricks’, ‘Rawhide’, ‘McMillan and Wife’, ‘Hopalong Cassidy’, ‘Gene Autry’, ‘Beast Wars’, and ‘Spectacle’.
The networks have all but shut down as we wait for the new fall season to kick off. Over on cable, have you noticed what ‘The Glades’ has been doing? It’s not really getting the press, but the numbers are there for A&E to call this one a success.
