One thing many fans of television look forward to in carrying them into the new year is television marathons. Who needs DVDs, Netflix and Hulu when you can suffer through what a network has to offer all night, morning and the next day?
The big story for the broadcast networks was the horrible debut of ‘Skating With The Stars’ in the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ slot. Over on cable, ‘The Walking Dead’ hit series highs with the fifth episode.
Thanksgiving tossed a monkey wrench into the gears of the television schedule, but there were still some interesting stories to be had, including the premiere of ABC’s ‘Skating With The Stars’, and week two of ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’.
On cable, ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’ debuted to solid numbers for TLC, while TBS and TLC were not so lucky with ‘Glory Daze’ and ‘Pawn Queens’. Over on the networks, the big story was again the singing kids of ‘Glee’.
The big story in ratings last week came from the huge numbers AMC enjoyed for the premiere of ‘The Walking Dead’. Over on the broadcast networks, the return of Penny to ‘Big Bang Theory’ had that show riding high as well.
It was another pretty standard week where the numbers were concerned. Most shows have started to stabilize by this point, but there are still some interesting bits to be had. The race between ‘Castle’ and ‘Hawaii Five-0′ is one of those.
