Tonight on the tube: Easy Money and Valentine premiere 4Real

The CW

The CW

12:00p/11:00a Central

  • Maybe we should post these things first thing in the morning? Well, anyway G4’s Spaceballs: The Animated Series settles into its regular timeslot with two back-to-back installments. Don’t worry if you missed it, though, because it’s pretty godawful.

1:00p/12:00 Central

  • TBS kicks off their baseball coverage with NLDS Game 4 between the Phillies and Brewers. Milwaukee staved off elimination last night to keep their hopes alive. The Cubs, however, are done.

4:00p/3:00 Central

  • The ALDS Game 3 returns to TBS with the Tampa Bay Rays looking to complete their sweep of the White Sox and leave the entire city of Chicago in mourning.

5:00p/4:00 Central

  • The CW launches a new late afternoon/early evening weekly program that follows celebrities as they visit some of the most poverty stricken and otherwise struggling parts of the world to try and do a little good. On tonight’s two installments of 4Real, Cameron Diaz visits Peru and K’Naan heads for Kenya.

6:00p/5:00 Central

  • At 6:30p/5:30 Central, TBS brings you the third of their baseball triple header. Boston looks to make quick work and complete their own sweep of the Angels in another ALDS Game 3.
  • Next up on The CW is the premiere of In Harm’s Way, a series spotlighting those individuals who risk their lives in their everyday jobs just to help out schlubs like you and me. Tonight’s focus is on Coast Guard swimmers.

7:00p/6:00 Central

  • The premiere of In Harm’s Way on The CW continues with a look at the incredibly dangerous world of professional bull riding. Actually, one of the most dangerous parts of that world is the rodeo clown.
  • NBC sets the stage for tonight’s gridiron action with Football Night in America. Or hold off on football for an hour and find out whatever happened to the electric car, the mission to take down Bin Laden and the good old days on the market with CBS’s 60 Minutes
  • For people who think all that’s too intellectually challenging in these troubling times, don’t worry. The comfort food of dads getting hit in the groin and cats falling off the backs of couches returns for a nineteenth season on ABC. That’s right, America’s Funniest Home Videos will never die.

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • Struggling with two children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and another with Crohn’s Disease, the Akers family is in desperate need of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to help the children get around inside their own house. To make it even more exciting, the Jonas Brothers and Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo stop by to lend support.
  • Tonight, on CBS’s The Amazing Race, the teams start making simple mistakes that could cost them the game. To that, I say, “Already? It’s only the second leg. Get it together, people! This blogger could finish the race in half the time it takes all of you!”
  • Nick at Nite hands out a bunch of awards to a bunch of dogs in their special the First Annual Worldwide Fido Awards. Hosted by Fred Willard, the competition features categories like “Best Trick,” “Owner Look-A-Like” and “Most Outrageous.” Not your typical dog show.
  • Bart Simpson acquires Denis Leary’s cell phone and starts making prank calls pretending to be the star on tonight’s The Simpsons. Next up on FOX, Hank tries to convince his company to go green on King of the Hill.
  • Meanwhile, at 8:15p/7:15 Central, all the set up is done and its time for grown men to get their faces smashed into the green. Turf, that is. It’s the Steelers v. the Jaguars on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • News reports of Dede, or the Treeman have run rampant the past year or so, ever since video and pictures of his condition surfaced. Tonight, Discovery Health offers up Treeman: Search for the Cure as specialists try to find a way to cure this man from his crippling condition.
  • To go on the streets with real New York police detectives in first-person accounts and video, flip over to the Biography Channel and tune in to Watching the Detectives. Or to find out which of the various “Of Love” VH1 celebrity whores wanted the fame and money the most, check out the finale of I Love Money. Because on reality shows, that’s really what it’s all about. Then in a few years, you can see how big of a monster some of these women can be when they appear on WE’s Bridezillas.
  • Mrs. McCluskey pulls in Katherine to help find out more about new neighbor Dave on Desperate Housewives. They should just let him be and be grateful that Showtime’s Dexter doesn’t live on Wisteria Lane.
  • Tonight we learn how Bill got turned on HBO’s True Blood. While Bill lectures about the Civil War to the town, Sookie tries her damnedest to stay away from him; I think he scared her.
  • A set of old car keys, belonging to a teacher who disappeared in 1991, are found by a student in an old desk, shedding new light on that Cold Case for CBS.
  • Jesus makes his triumphant return to the world of FOX’s Family Guy, followed by Roger’s credit card getting maxed on American Dad. Identity theft?
  • Maybe he can hit up the payday loan shops of The CW’s new drama Easy Money, starring Laurie Metcalf as the matriarch and head of a family run quick-cash company.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • It’s the season finale of Skins on BBC America. But don’t worry, the second season premiere is next week. This is one of the most brutal portrayals of teens I’ve ever seen, but achingly beautiful (in parts) to watch.
  • The women of the Naperville, IL Police Department get the spotlight on the Biography Channel’s Female Forces. The women of an entirely different force return with the season five debut of E!s The Girls Next Door.
  • Or, Brooke Hogan finally leaves our televisions, at least for awhile, on the season finale of VH1’s Brooke Knows Best. But being the screen-time whore that she’s becoming, I’m sure she’ll find a way to work her engagement into an appearance on all the wedding shows like Amazing Wedding Cakes on WE.
  • For a continuing look at the life and times of war from a woman’s point of view, there’s always Lifetime’s Army Wives. The wives also play a prominent role on CBS’s The Unit. Tonight they’re relocated and given new identities while their husbands fly commercial tracking a potential terrorist target.
  • Or, if you’d rather watch a man trying to shag all these woman, you can tune in to David Duchovny on Showtime’s Californication. Of course, being in prison, his access to women is limited right now.
  • All hell breaks loose in the Walker’s world as Kitty publishes a tell-all memoir without their advanced knowledge. And she pulls no punches on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters.
  • HBO’s comedy block starts off with a new Entourage as the boys head to Joshua Tree National Park to clear their heads. This is followed by the second installment of British import/remake sketch comedy Little Britain.

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • HBO follows up with the latest of their badly animated (think Dr. Katz) The Life & Times of Tim.

I can’t wait for The Unit to come on they’ve really started this season off with a bang. Hopefully it gets a review as well.

I just hope Nina Tassler doesn’t cancel it or leave it hanging on the cancellation bubble again. I hope they keep this terror plot going for a little while. Or just kill all the wives and make it a whole hour of action.
