Sebastian’s back Guest-clacking for us again, after sharing his thought about Friday Night Lights‘ last few episodes….
Are you one of those people who can’t stand Family Guy anymore? Hate the silly cutaways? The idiotic antics? The in-your-face humor? Is Family Guy totally getting on your nerves?
I hear you. I was right there with you last year. I couldn’t stand it anymore. It became repetitive. No innovation. Boring. I mean, how often is Adam West’s silliness funny? Same goes for American Dad. I can’t stand it anymore at the moment. But let me tell you what saved Family Guy for me at the end of the last season: Sci-Fi spoofs. For one: “Blue Harvest,” the Family Guy spoof of Star Wars – A New Hope (that’s Episode IV for you uber-nerds). That was an awesome episode; I laughed my ass off. That episode gave me back the confidence I had in the show when it went off the air and I couldn’t understand why.
And since Seth MacFarlane is no idiot — and was already working together with Patrick Stewart on American Dad — he got the whole cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation together for last night’s episode, “Not all Dogs go to Heaven,” which basically had two main storylines: One, Stewie getting so pissed at not getting any answers for his Star Trek related questions at the yearly Quahog Sci-Fi Con, and the other about Meg and the Mumps (I mean God). I mean Meg being totally ugly and her family hating her. You know, something we’ve never seen before (*eyeroll*) but with a new twist.
But why am I trying to recap here. Go watch it yourself on the Fox Homepage.
How extremely, insanely good was this episode? Let’s count the ways:
No mention of Brian (Bryan?) growling New Kids at Meg? That was one of my favorites
He did say “Brian fetching the cross and growling in song.”
Hmm, I guess I’d better read more carefully next time. Sorry Sebastian! ;)
Thanks for having my back Keith ;-)
There’s a “with” too many in sentence number one in paragraph two by the way :-D
@Cate: I obfuscated it because I didn’t recognize the song, I’m sorry :-)
