South Park does Ghost Hunters, Billy Mays and “Chipotlaway”

South Park Ghost Hunters

Check one item off the list I made earlier this week. Not that it was much of a surprise coming from Parker and Stone, but they went ahead and spoofed Michael Jackson right from the get-go. Actually, they went ahead and spoofed the slew of celebrity deaths from the past year, including Walter Cronkite, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and, of course, Billy Mays.

I’m not sure you could easily (or at least quickly) explain to someone how this episode was able to parody Michael Jackson’s ghost along with creepy little girl pageants, but that’s just what happened. Has there been an episode that’s parodied so many things at once that wasn’t Imaginationland? Let’s see, they had:

  • The aforementioned celebrity deaths. Y’know, I almost put “deaths in threes” on my previous list, and this seemed close enough to satisfy that.
  • Ghost Hunters. Man, they were spot-on with the way they looked. I watch that show and definitely got a laugh out of their scene.
  • Poltergeist
  • The Sixth Sense
  • Chipotle, with “Chipotlaway” to clean the blood stains out of your underwear. Holy shit, I love Chipotle but … ah hell, yeah, I might resort to Chipotlaway over giving that shiznit up. Plus, Billy Mays!
  • Creepy, little girl beauty pageants, complete with judges rubbing blown kisses on their naughty places.

I can’t remember Ike saying so much before in an episode, and with bleeped out profanity to boot! I know Parker and Stone do the voices for quite a few of the characters, including some of the kids, but Ike is clearly, really a small child’s voice. That’s enough to make him creepy and funny at the same time.

… but not as creepy as seeing Ike and Kyle’s parents going at it. Even animated, that was damn disturbing. Does Chipotlaway work to clean that image from my eyes? I’d believe Billy Mays, if he said it would.

The best episode of the season so far! This one definitely made up for there not being a new episode for nearly half a year :)

You forgot to mention the spoof of the airplane incident where passengers were stuck on the runway unable to get off the plane. That’s ignorant :)

Best episode of the season? It was the first one dumb ass.

Sorry, jackball Julie, this is the middle of the 13th seasons.

Look who’s calling the dumb ass, dumb ass. Season 13 stopped mid-season, and this episode was the continuation of that season. So, hell yeah, he’s entitled to call it the “best episode of the season” coz the goddamn season is not over yet, bitch! Stop being ignorant!

The Ghost Hunters ’spoof’ was absolutely pathetic.
Unfunny, cheap (and innacurate) it fit perfectly into a tired, predicatable and latent content ridden South Park episode…spoofing ‘Poltergeist’? Gee, Family Guy (the show Matt and Trey have admitted to hating because they ‘need to try harder’…uh huh, right guys…given this weak ass SP ep, you should practice what you preach) beat them to that punch several SEASONS ago. ‘The Sixth Sense’? Wow, how…topical.
South Park has officially jumped the shark.

Someone seems a bit bent out of shape.

Funny episode. I nearly died when the judge caught that kiss from Little Miss Michael Jackson.

I think Kevin Karstens is a Ghost Hunters fan. Or maybe he’s Grant Wilson.

I laughed my ass off. Sure, I’m stoned, but it was still a funny episode. I particularly enjoyed the Ghost Hunters parody, Billy Mays’s Chipoltaway infomercial, and the male judges at the pageant. That animation made me laugh every time.

South Park is still the best show ever! Everything else is too soft core.

I can’t stand Family Guy or The Simpson’s because they aren’t epic enough. When I say “Epic” I mean the term that you learned in English class.

Absolute classic. They did everything right with this episode and really got me excited for the rest of the season. I’m not going to be able to eat chipotle again without cracking up for as long as I live.
