My issue with the whole using the cable channels as a minor league of sorts for the network channels that own them: The nature of cable allows many shows to get away with a lot of different things that network censors would never let pass. FX’s biggest current success is American Horror Story (I hate the show personally, but its apparently a hit). To “draft” this show from the minor league FX to Fox would require some major chances. Some good (no more Dyan McDermott masturbating scenes), most would remove all the horror aspects of the show that they can getaway with on cable (killing children in the opening of the 1st episode, etc.). Also if NBC did nothing but draft the popular shows from Bravo, NBC would be nothing but reality shows featuring middle aged women throwing glasses of wine at each other.
